The term ‘Due Diligence’ (DD) literally means ‘with due care’. In the context of investments, DD refers to a thorough investigation that precedes a transaction. This investigation, also called a book review by accountants and tax specialists, aims to gather all relevant information about a company, asset or investment opportunity. This allows a better assessment of risks, opportunities and value, which ultimately helps in making an informed decision about the investment.
I am Pieter Regnery and in my role as an investor I like to be amazed. Over the years, I have gained a wealth of experience and insights. In 2006, I made the switch from public to private markets, being involved in several large projects for my employer. In particular, I was involved in setting up and executing due diligence processes.
As I gained more experience, my interest in strategy and DD grew. To me, this feels like a logical development, for a Registered Investment Analyst (RBA) with an executive MBA in Strategy from the University of Groningen in my pocket. As founder of Pro-Diligence, I see entrepreneurship as an exciting adventure where I continue to grow and can use my expertise to add value to investment projects, and help others with DD challenges.
